Before
- Exfoliate 24 hours before applying new self tan. This will ensure no tan remover residue is left on your skin.
- The night before, apply a hydrating oil to your body. Make sure to give extra attention to dry areas like elbows, knees and ankles.
- Don’t use moisturiser, perfume or deodorant. These products may prevent the tan activating and cause blotchiness and/or less effective results.
After
- Wear Loose Dark Clothing whilst your tan develops. Tight clothing may rub off the developing tan and cause unevenness.
- Moisturise in the morning, body oil at night and drink water! Keep your skin hydrated so your tan lasts longer. The MAIN reason your tan is not lasting is because you are not taking care of your skin.

Your Femni Tan should last between 7-10 days. Self Tan never lasts longer than 7-10 days because most outer skin cells shed every 5 to 10 days.
Following our tips above, with the correct preparation and maintenance, you can get up to 10 days out of your tan.
Ensuring your skin is properly exfoliated prior to tanning helps to prolong the tan. Once you have your tan on, keep your skin hydrated by using a body oil and moisturiser. This will help to ensure your tan stays healthy, radiant and even.
